Layth Maximus
Layth was originally one of the main opponents of Eternal Basthet and Enkidu when the Free Reigns first became a faction. He ran his own reign and legions with an iron fist, so coexistence, cooperation, and harmony weren't words included in his vocabulary.
However, over time, he had to admit that the new model of union and cooperation between the reigns, with Eternal Basthet as their queen, worked well for him. This was especially true because he had been given a new role that was perfect for him—even better than his previous job as ruler of his own reign: He got to lead the legions and troops of all three reigns in the faction, but was exempt from all the responsibilities of a ruler. He didn't have to hold hearings with subjects, listen to their problems, or show any care for them at all—because, in fact, he didn't care.
Instead, he was able to focus entirely on war. In times of peace, he could just make soldiers fight each other in his colosseum while he placed bets and had fun watching the fights. He ended up loving the new United Free Reigns setup.
So, imagine his shock when the Alliance of Evil, whose members held a grudge against the Free Reigns, raided the faction and kidnapped Eternal Basthet and Enkidu the Untombed. Layth was immediately named the new ruler, Layth Maximus, and was expected to attend to all the inhabitants of the Free Reigns who were panicking about the war. He was not going to have any of it. He set out on a mission with all his legions by his side, displaying all the skill they had gained in the colosseum during the years of peace. Layth Maximus proved himself to be the best general for the troops of the Free Reigns, while the troops themselves proved to be a fearsome force.
That's how Eternal Basthet and Enkidu the Untombed made their way back to the Free Reigns after a short time being kidnapped by Nebotus. But more importantly, that's the story of how Layth Maximus went back to his favorite activity: fight-watching.

Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Immune to Blind Rank 1: Status Caster - Applies Injury to all enemies on its first turn Rank 3: Hardened Rank 4: Status Caster - Gains Anticipation on its first turn Rank 5: Immune to Control
Folgorg
As Abominations roam freely across the Monster Legends universe once more, new impossible creatures continue to emerge. This is Folgorg, a star-devouring Abomination, more dangerous than almost any other due to its complete lack of sentience.
In this age of Abominations—ruled by Voreth Voidspawn and marked by their first interactions with other forms of life—it's fascinating to see how a large part of the species remains true to its mysterious and indecipherable origins.
Folgorg is a Thunder and Magic Tank with Abomination and Taunt as traits and Decay skills.
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Abomination Rank 1: Taunt Rank 3: Status Caster - Gains Immunity to Freeze on its first turn
Luperemus
Unlike his evil twin, Romulupus, Luperemus is always in a good mood and always knows the perfect words to cheer up Layth’s troops. This doesn’t necessarily sit well with Layth; in fact, the ruler finds his relentless positivity quite annoying. Still, he has to admit that Luperemus is impossible not to love and trust.
Not only does this wolf have the best attitude, but he’s also incredibly bright. He solves problems before they even arise, sparing Layth a headache or two.
Luperemus is a Weakener Support monster with Area Dodge, positive and negative effect removals, Damage Reduction, and Trait Disable.
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Celestial Rank 1: Status Caster - Gains Area Dodge on its first turn Rank 3: Immune to Tortures
Romulupus
Romulupus is the exact opposite of his brother, Luperemus: ferocious, violent, dominant, and ruthless—just the way Layth likes him. He’s also quite problematic, which Layth doesn’t necessarily care for, but accepts as part of the package.
The ruler has a soft spot for Romulupus; if he didn’t have the burden of his responsibilities, he’d probably be just as wild. Because of this, he overprotects the wolf and constantly forgives his crimes.
Romulupus is a Tank with Trample, Damage Mirror, Ignite, Bleed and Burn skills, and MegaTaunt as a trait. Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Tough Rank 1: Status Caster - Applies Ignite to all enemies on its first turn Rank 3: MegaTaunt
Centurioat
As the most stubborn centurion in the Free Reigns, this battle-hardened goat answers to no one except Layth Maximus himself.
While he may look a bit stupid, behind those eyes, there's some tactical brilliance. He barks out complex legion formations entirely through a series of gruff, aggressive grunts. The Free Reigns soldiers have fully mastered this "language," leaving enemies utterly baffled by the coordinated maneuvers.
Centurioat is a Dark and Earth Attacker with Shields, Extortion, and Injury
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Immune to Control Rank 1: Bulwark Rank 3: Cold Blood Rank 5: Status Caster - Applies Injury to all enemies on its first turn
Cageroar
Most of what is done to prisoners inside the headquarters of Souls’ Lair is better kept an everlasting secret. They can never let anyone know that Cageroar is theirs, its origin an embarrassing mystery.
Because Cageroar used to be a prisoner from another faction, but after undergoing countless experiments, this savage creature is all that remains of what was once a fully functional, sentient monster. He is now so unrecognizable and ferocious that no one dares approach his cage—not even to release him and destroy the evidence of their torture.
Cageroar is a Metal and Special Controller with Fear, Death Countdown and Evasion Removal skills.
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Immune to Control Rank 1: Immune to Tortures Rank 3: Status Caster - Applies Nightmares to all enemies on its first turn
Captain Whipstrike
This Elektra-grown monster was accepted as a pupil by Jestin Justice at a very young age. Always a bit cocky and completely obsessed with the stars, he was eager to go out and make his mark as soon as he was ready. Recognizing their similarities, Jestin knew that Maximus Astrum would be the perfect next mentor for him.
Jestin’s instincts were spot on. Maximus Astrum saw his potential immediately, and Captain Whipstrike found his true calling in Space. Now enlisted as a Space Defender, he is having a blast at his new job, even in times of war. Monsters from the Cosmo Civilizations try to avoid him at all costs—the ultimate testament to his talent!
Captain Whipstrike is a Thunder and Metal Attacker with Upgrade skills and Artifact as a trait.
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Artifact Rank 1: Anticipation Rank 3: Status Caster - Applies Shock to all enemies on its first turn
Merrick Grandtracks
Merrick Grandtracks is the grandson of the great Adventurer Nana Sugarwhistle. He was raised under her wing, so naturally, there are great expectations surrounding little Merrick. However, unfazed by all the noise, he is determined to forge his own path. Paradoxically, that independence is the clearest sign that he is a worthy successor to his grandmother's legacy. Have a great life journey, Merrick Grandtracks!
Merrick Grandtracks is a Water and Thunder Support with Area Dodge as a trait and Damage Boosts skills.
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Area Dodge Rank 1: Immune to Blind Rank 3: Status Caster - Applies a random Hater effect to all on its first turn
Nana Sugarwhistle
Nana Sugarwhistle is a legend of an Adventurer, in all her glory. Not only does she know Petra inside out, she was also one of the curators of the Village of Adventurers. When Baba Basheer left after founding it to get back on the road, Nana was one of the most dedicated monsters who made sure it grew in a healthy, sustainable way. She used to build cottages with her own hands and, to this day, she still manages the census of inhabitants—both those who live there permanently and the rest of the members of the Adventurers' Guild who call the village home, even if they only visit it from time to time. Nana Sugarwhistle is a true institution.
Magic and Light Controller with Cooldown Activation and Time Stop skills, and Anticipation as a trait.
Evolving Trait: Rank 0: Anticipation Rank 1: Immune to Blind Rank 3: Status Caster - Gains Evasion on its first turn
Malcaco
President Canine knows his days in office are numbered. He’s going down—but he refuses to leave empty-handed. That’s why he hired Malcaco: to secure a few "souvenirs" before the regime topples. It’s a low-risk gamble for the President. If Malcaco gets caught, he’ll keep his mouth shut (if he ever wants to see the outside of a jail cell again). If he succeeds, he gets a massive payday, and Canine gets to indulge his final, corrupt whims.
But Malcaco isn't just working for the paycheck. Whenever he's on a job, he makes sure to pocket a few extra gifts for himself—after all, since he's already there, what's a little undeclared commission? It’s not like Canine is paying him out of his own pocket anyway. Malcaco has been in this game long enough to know that the best way to survive is to always look out for number one.
